Fundraising
Times have altered the way most school districts approach fundraising. A lack of funding and inability to approve measures intended to provide educational relief have left teachers, parents, and PTA organizations more dependent than ever on each other.
"Heroes are not giant statues framed against a red sky. They are people who say 'This is my community, and it's my responsibility to make it better." - Tom McCall
Innisbrook Wrapping Paper Sale – This fundraiser is Westbrook and Glen Grove’s largest fundraising earner; without a benefit this year it becomes even more important. Orders are placed within the first month of the school year; wrapping paper is shipped to your home before the holidays. Fall Carnival - Glen Grove is a fairground during this magical event! The gymnasium is full of carnival games. Students can pre-order food, game tickets and candy apples. The PTA profits from ticket sales for carnival games. The PTA organizes all of the volunteers who run the games and handle ticket sales. Look out... this is the event where the coveted teacher donations are raffled off for so many lucky students!!
Blossom Boutique - This wonderful multi-cluster event invites over 20 vendors to sell their wares in Attea Middle school. Participating cluster PTA volunteers work together to plan the vendor list, marketing plan, vendor communication, floor plan and finances. Proceeds come from a table fee per vendor and a percentage of sales. We split the proceeds evenly among the participating PTAs.
Pancake Breakfast - The Pancake Breakfast is a breakfast extravaganza hosted at Westbrook School for both Westbrook and Glen Grove students and their families. We serve a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice. We host a drawing of the classroom donations during the morning of the breakfast. Winners are contacted after names have been drawn. The chair and the co-chair organize a team of people to solicit local businesses for donations, market the event, coordinate food pre-orders, decorations, classroom donations, chefs and event volunteers.
